Mike Dawson wins at Voss Extreme Week in Norway
Mike dawson has put his Olympic dreams on hold; instead Dawson is travelling in Norway exploring the steep creeks that Norway is famous for. Mike is travelling with fellow Kiwi's Josh Neilson, Bradley Lauder and Sam Sutton. Over the last few days their goal has been the Voss Extreme Week event, one of the largest Extreme Sports events in the world.
Dawson made the most of the opportunity and won the downriver race ahead of Italian Michelle Ramazza. Mike was the only New Zealander inside the top ten for this event as Sam Sutton placed 11th. Attention turned to the teams race where it was an amazing display of Kiwi-Boating with each of the top three teams having Kiwi Paddlers.
1st Mike Abbot (NZ), Andy Phillips(UK) and Allan Ellard (UK)
2nd Mike Dawson (NZ), Sam Sutton (NZ) and Bradley Lauder (NZ)
3rd Josh Neilson (NZ) Michelle Ramazza (ITA) Benjamin Hjort (NOR)
The final kayaking event for the week is a head to head race being held today.
